I dunno what it means, but I drew this today

Pointless junk. Font style inspired by Nigel Peake.

Feeling evaporated, waterlogged, desaturated... lots of things but not energised. Twiddling thumbs a lot.

I'm working on the new site for Alternative Eagle design studio, so I picked up some watercolours today to have some play time and this image was something that came out of it. It reminds me of the evenings that the husband and I spent last week drinking tea in the garden at night and watching the field sleeping behind the house. It is so quiet and thrilling out there that you feel as if there's nobody else on the planet. I think I need to get out more.

new website

deary me. I've been a bad girl not keeping up with this blogging thing.

The reason is this: I've just (almost) completed my shiny new website. I'm not too sure whether I like it, but it'll do for now. I have certainly learnt a load of new stuff, mostly about Flash and actionscript, which must be one of the most pernickety, fussy, temperamental things I've ever had to code with. Jeez...

well. It's not quite finished, and there's no animation page yet, but there it is. Now I suppose I'd better get on with doing some proper work. Hey, maybe I'll even get round to doing some of those drawings I've been meaning to do (cough) 'twice a week'! (eek! I haven't even managed one yet).

stuff and nonsense

Still working on this Nature job. I'll post up roughs and final piece in a couple of days' time.

Rude bunny

Naughty thing.

Progress

So I'm trying to sort out my old website and put up a shiny new one, but it has so far been proving rather frustrating. I've just posted off (can you believe I have to send it by post?) a form that will get karencheung.co.uk back online. Fingers crossed.

In readiness for this event, I'm starting to think about how I want the site to look and have been spending the day smudging graphite around some bits of paper.

Here are some sketches that may or may not make it onto the site.

The God of Chippies

Some random dude.

This one is going somewhere fun.

I'm thinking the site will be based on the idea of freakshows or sideshows. Probably black and white since I seem to do that most naturally but maybe a splish of colour would be a good thing. We'll see.
