it arrived!

Well, it arrived a week ago but I couldn't stir myself to go to the post office to pick it up until yesterday. Now I've just got to work out how to rewire the damn thing and find a spot in the house for it...

  1. Oh it's beauuuutiful! I'm quite envious now!
I'm quite obsessed with the "classic standard object" phenomenon - objects that seemingly look almost the same, that have an iconic shape with very little variation - but there are those little differences that make or break that achievement of total harmony in design and materials. It's like a perfect note played on a violin - when you hit it, it sings.
And it makes you smile. No wonder they talk about composition in paintings...

Sorry, I must learn to keep it short.

You know what I mean or am I just a pretentious fruit basket?
    ;)

  2. Jules, I think I know what you mean, and I've seen you (if you are indeed the Julia I know!) chase such things with passion. However, the result of an obsession with finding that perfect version of a standard object is that you spend far too much time on the internet and not enough time working :-) But it's worth it in the end. The clock is even nicer in the flesh.

    Barry, you take the piss.
