I don't have anything form my childhood. :-( (we moved a lot: military and all that). My daughter, though, was given the perfect tiny bear when she was born (from the uncle of my au-pair kids in France) and she still has it. It has gone everywhere with her - school trips, family camping trips, WWOOFing, Thailand - and now it's all settled at her side in Ottawa. There's not much left of him - she patched him with bits of a pink terrycloth bathrobe at one point - but he is so beloved. That's him on the very left:
oh, Lynn, I'm sorry you didn't manage to keep anything from your childhood. Having an old toy is so silly, but special :-) Your daughter's bear and blog are super-cute - the patched bear reminds me of the story of the Velveteen Rabbit.
I'd love to put more prints up for sale - I've been a bit lazy on the shop front recently. I'm so pleased you like this drawing. It just seemed right the other day :-) x
Hello! I am an illustrator, animator and artist based in the UK. I am represented by Jelly London. Please visit my portfolio here. I like to draw freaks and monsters, or animals with personality disorders - these are the kind of people I find interesting. I love vintage homewares, going to auctions and wearing bad knitwear.
The name Alternative Eagle comes from a childish, deliberate mispronunciation of 'alter ego'. Best not to ask exactly how that came about - you'd probably think I'm mad.
Thank you for stopping by. Any comments or suggestions are always welcome :-)

awhhhhh!

P.S. I wish you sold prints of more of your drawings. This one is simply irresistible. So many are.
